Shrapnel is a piece I created to work out the trials we deal in the world today. I like using the eagle as an icon. Not for the symbolism of freedom or being a patriot, but for its meaning to Native Americans. Native Americans have a major presence in the U.S. military today and in the past. The Native American is like the eagle; it is a free spirit and has a link to the natural world. Whatever opinions I have on war, I can acknowledge Natives Americans strive for honor and their journey to represent his or her family. This piece was made to honor that right to represent and be proud.
